West Ham News: David Moyes Kicks Ball Boy, Apologizes

Moyes Sent Off After Europa League Heartbreak

Manager Praises Players' Response, Urges Improvement in Second Leg

West Ham United manager David Moyes has apologized for kicking a ball boy after being sent off during Thursday's Europa League semi-final first leg against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Moyes was dismissed in the 82nd minute of the match for kicking the ball at a ball boy who was attempting to delay the game. The incident occurred after West Ham had conceded a late goal to lose 2-1.

In a statement on the club's website, Moyes said: "I want to apologize for my behavior. I was in the heat of the moment and my actions were unacceptable. I have spoken with the ball boy and apologized to him personally.

Despite the incident, Moyes praised his players for their response to the disappointment of the defeat.

"I was very proud of the players," Moyes said. "They showed great character and determination to come back from a goal down and almost get an equalizer in the end. We have to take that performance into the second leg and show more quality if we want to progress."

The second leg of the semi-final will be played at the London Stadium on Thursday, May 5.
