Nerlens Noel Re-Signs with New York Knicks

The New York Knicks announced today that the team has re-signed center Nerlens Noel. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. "Nerlens is a tough, physical presence in the paint," said Knicks President Leon Rose. "His rebounding and defense will be valuable assets to our team." Noel, 27, averaged 5.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 2.2 blocks in 64 games (53 starts) for the Knicks last season. He also shot .613 from the field. Noel was originally drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers with the sixth overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. He has also played for the Dallas Mavericks and Oklahoma City Thunder. The Knicks are hoping that Noel can help them improve on their 41-31 record from last season and make a run at the playoffs.
